Rhea Ripley Rejects Wrestling Stereotypes

[ad_1]

After Rhea debuted on the WWE’s main roster in 2021, she has experienced soaring popularity owing to her unique appearance and performance. In a recent episode of “The Wrestling Classic,” an interview with Rhea Ripley explained how it was important for her to discover her unique style in order to become the admired wrestler she is today.

Ripley acknowledged that the way toward this persona was not smooth. “I had so much to go through between the first Mae Young Classic and the second Mae Young Classic,” Ripley said. “At workplaces, I was being bullied, I was told what to do, that I was not good enough and all that.

I had enough of that. I tried to change who I was to conform to the image I thought the place required of me, yet I just could not do it anymore.” That moment of frustration is when the audience begins seeing a new Ripley, one who has resolved not to make any apologies whenever she stands in front of a WWE camera.

This approval saw her cut her hair and dress in ways more comfortable to her. Inspired by her love for metal, she developed a unique look.

Ripley Confidence Grows

Ripley mentioned that being herself has helped her win fans over.

“With every year that has gone by, you can see me just get so much more confident and comfortable in my skin and so much better each passing year, “she said.” It’s like, it’s not even a WWE thing it’s like a real life thing.

I am maturing.” While she has further developed her character journey in the past, she has also been on a quest for self-discovery within and outside the mat. As she explains it further, she has grown in understanding and accepting what is out of her reach, letting her blossom even when outside forces prevent it.

Outside of herself, this process of becoming has also transformed the direction of her career with WWE, reaching new levels.
