Gallstone pancreatitis has been diagnosed for the former AEW wrestler, Joey Janela, who was admitted to hospital suffering from severe abdominal pain and vomiting. Janela has been a popular figure in professional wrestling circles and he shared this concerning news on his social media platforms where he revealed that his condition had worsened over the last few days.
“Like, I’ve been hurting for a bit now, worse past couple days also insane puking. I pushed through it to do something at the Limp Bizkit show, then checked into a hospital today. Well turns out I have gallstone pancreatitis so my August schedule is up in the air and bills are going to be through the roof.
And I’m gonna try and get some merch out there, should be here for a minute”.
Janela Uncertain Schedule
The suddenness of its onset puts Janela’s forthcoming wrestling dates in question. He’s notably billed to miss Game Changer Wrestling’s (GCW) “You Only Die Once” event in Japan.
The tour that ran between August 12th and 14th included an engagement of five-way match featuring Janela against notable wrestlers like Giant Panda Andreza, Broski Jimmy, Effy, Danhausen on August 14th.Apart from that, on August 13th, as part of GCW’s “The Sky Is The Limit” show taking place in Tokyo Janela was booked for a singles match with Marcus Mathers.
This hospitalization is not the first time Janela has had health issues. Last year he suffered burns during a match with Atsushi Onita in Japan which emphasized how physically demanding wrestling can be. His current state of health adds more questions about his wellbeing as well as future prospects for him within professional wrestling industry.
His case brings out just how uncertain sports can be resulting into personal difficulties faced by athletes due to their poor health conditions.Just when will Matt Hardy return.
