Saints’ Taysom Hill will focus on playing tight end in 2022, coach Dennis Allen says, per report

With Sean Payton gone, Taysom Hill lost seemingly one of his fiercest supporters. The Swiss Army knife has played quarterback, tight end, fullback, wide receiver and special teams for the New Orleans Saints over the past few years, but he will now be focusing on one position. On Tuesday, new Saints head coach Dennis Allen told reporters that Hill will be working at tight end moving forward, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.
“A lot more of the F tight end, move tight end type of role,” Allen said, via Katherine Terrell of The Athletic. “I think that’s the direction that we need to move with him, because I think he may be one of the better players in the league in that role.”
The Saints are keeping Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback, as the former No. 1 overall pick inked a two-year, $28 million deal this offseason, per CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. In seven starts last season, Winston threw for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions while leading New Orleans to a 5-2 record. He tore his ACL on Halloween against his former team in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
