Adam Scott Believes Meeting Between Players and PIF Would Be a Great

The PGA Tour is still negotiating with PIF regarding the merger. Although a deal was expected to be reached much earlier, nothing has happened yet. Many players, including Adam Scott, hope that the future holds better stories.
Adam Scott, one of the six-player directors, hopes that an agreement will be reached. According to golf media headlines, a meeting between players and PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan will take place in the next few days.
Scott confirmed to AP that the players will be the ones voting and deciding what will happen. Adam believes that this is very important, as the players’ voices must be respected, which may not have been the case in the past. PGA Tour leaders want to correct the mistakes they have made in the past.
“Ultimately the players are some of the vote going into whether a deal will happen or not, just like it was with SSG. With the seriousness of what we’re voting on, I think it is important that we’ve all met no matter what anyone’s feelings are.
If PIF thinks it’s beneficial that we meet… as far as getting on with business, yeah, let’s get on with it. I would like to resolve this no matter what the outcome is. And we can all move on.”- Scott said, as quoted by golfmonthly.com
Scott has expressed respect towards PIF and their willingness to talk to golfers. Their goal is probably to present what the merger would mean and to see if the golfers are in favor of it. Scott has no problem with that, regardless of whether someone supports PIF or not.
