Alexander Zverev has been ordered to pay a €450k fine for bodily harming his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea. In July, it was reported that the public prosecutor’s office in Berlin was seeking a penalty order against Zverev for alleged bodily harm.

Patea, who shares daughter Mayla with Zverev, accused Zverev of bodily harming her earlier this year. “The defendant is accused of physically abusing a woman and damaging her health as part of an argument in Berlin in May 2020,” the court said in a statement, via BILD.

Zverev plans to appeal the ruling

Addressing the court ruling, Zverev’s defense lawyers Prof. Dr. Alfred Dierlamm and Katharina Dierlamm used the word “scandalous” when reflecting on the decision made. Also, Zverev’s lawyers underlined that this is not the end as they said that “there can be no question of a fair, constitutional procedure.

Mr. Zverev will take every possible action against this. Mr Zverev rejects the accusation made against him. The allegations made by the complainant alone on which the penalty order is based have already been confirmed by a forensic medical report from the recognized Berlin forensic doctor Prof.

Dr. Tsokos, Charité Berlin, refuted.” A couple of months ago – when Zverev himself was asked about the accusations made against him – he said: “I completely reject the allegations. My lawyers are taking care of the matter.

I won’t say anything more about it.” Earlier this year, Zverev escaped any disciplinary action from the ATP in the Olya Sharypova case. The ATP, who investigated domestic violence accusations Sharypova made against her ex-boyfriend Zverev, said that they found “insufficient evidence” to substantiate allegations of domestic abuse against the German tennis star. After just getting his name cleared in the Sharypova case, Zverev is again battling to clear his name in another case.
