The SFA have written to Scottish football clubs warning that players or officials found guilty of racist or discriminatory behaviour will be hit with a mandatory, minimum 10-match ban.
Scottish cricket’s governing body has been rocked by an independent report which ruled they were ‘institutionally racist’, after a ‘shocking’ litany of racist behaviour was uncovered.
A damning dossier published on Monday found a staggering 448 examples of institutional racism.

With other Scottish sports coming under scrutiny, the SFA have moved to introduce a new disciplinary rule 81, which outlaws instances of ‘offensive, insulting or abusive language’ which reference ‘ethnic origin, colour, race, nationality, religion or belief, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation or disability.’
And in a letter sent to clubs by the SFA’s Compliance Officer last week, clubs were reminded that any breach of rule 81 will result in a mandatory minimum ten-match suspension for players found guilty.
