SmackDown Women’s Title Changes Hands At WWE Extreme Rules

WWE Extreme Rules featured two big women’s championship matches with one title changing hands.
In the second match of the night, Ronda Rousey challenged Liv Morgan once again for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but this time in an Extreme Rules match. The women held nothing back with the use of Morgan’s bat heavily featured. Morgan took a beating but crashed onto Rousey through a table despite it.
In the end, Rousey locked up Morgan in a bicep stretch, forcing the champ to pass out. The referee called for the bell, and Rousey effectively won her second SmackDown Women’s title. Morgan was caught smiling despite passing out and losing the championship.
Scarlett Bordeaux played a pivotal role in the Strap match between Karrion Kross and Drew McIntyre. Her presence was felt all throughout the battle, but she officially entered the ring to pepper spray McIntyre in the eyes to help Kross score the victory.
Later on, NXT‘s Nikkita Lyons was shown in the front row as she was in attendance to witness history unfold.
Bayley and Bianca Belair went to war in a ladder match with the Raw Women’s Championship hanging above. Interestingly enough, Sasha Banks was name dropped while Michael Cole ran down Bayley’s accomplishments.
During the match, when Belair had her first real shot at grabbing the title, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY ran down to knock the champ down. Belair fought back and managed a double KOD to the Tag Team Champions.
Belair eventually used her braid to whip Bayley off the ladder. The EST grabbed Bayley, who had half of a ladder in hand, and nailed another huge KOD that saw Bayley land face-first on the ladder she was holding. Belair scaled the ladder and retrieved her title to retain.
During the “I Quit” match between Edge and Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley handcuffed Edge to the top rope. Beth Phoenix made a surprise appearance and brawled with Ripley before unlocking Edge. Ripley eventually came back to strike Phoenix with a pair of bare…
