Nadal, 35, didn’t feel well during the Indian Wells Masters final and after the match underwent testing to reveal what caused breathing difficulties during the surprise Taylor Fritz loss.
Unfortunately for Nadal, the tests revealed that he suffered a stress fracture in his rib. When announcing the news, Nadal revealed he would likely be forced out for four to six weeks. One week has passed since Nadal announced the news as the Barcelona Open starts on April 18.
Nadal out of the Monte Carlo Masters
Nadal has already pulled out of Monte Carlo but he seems to be still holding hope that he would be ready for Barcelona. Nadal made a stunning comeback to tennis as he is 20-1 on the season.
