Former WWE Star Seeks Fan Insights 141 Days Post Quick Defeat

In an unexpected move before this year’s WWE Draft, many superstars were put up for release due to financial cuts. Amongst those let go in April 2024 was Daniel Vidot, who performs under the ring name Xyon. His time with WWE ended after a brief match against Bron Breakker on March 1, 2024, when he lost in just six seconds.

It was his only bout of the year far fewer appearances than he had made through May 2023. Since becoming a free agent in the wrestling world, Xyon has been using social media as a way to directly interact with fans. On platform X, he asked viewers a significant question: “Where do you want to see me wrestle?” This move shows that he intends to let his career be driven by what his fanbase wants and takes a direct approach at plotting out where he will go next.

WWE Star Rise and Fall

He first debuted as Xyon with WWE in Stamford in 2021. After starting strong, undefeated in individual matches, Santos Escobar of Legado del Fantasma brought that momentum to a screeching halt, marking the beginning of what would be tough times for him.

Another notable wrestler who found himself outside of WWE was Jinder Mahal. Released at the same time as Xyon, former WWE Champion Mahal made some noise on July 18 when he announced on platform X that his 90-day non-compete clause had expired: “Hindered no more.

90 days are up 🚨”. That announcement has opened doors for him to return to the ring already booked for matches such as one against Kevin Ku at Black Label Pro on July 26 and teaming with AEW’s Satnam Singh against AAA’s Triplemania XXXII on August 17.

For these matches Mahal will be going by Raj Dhesi which reflects his birth name Yuvraj Singh Dhesi. This rebranding appears to represent a fresh start for him and sets the stage for what will take place on the indie wrestling circuits.
