In January, Tottenham announced that US-based technology company Fast had become their ‘Official One-Click Payment Partner’, offering a single payment button for purchases in the Spurs shop and at the stadium.

Last week Fast went bust. That really was quick. CEO and co-founder Domm Holland said in a statement: ‘Sometimes trailblazers don’t make it all the way to the mountain top.’

An employee told the Protocol website: ‘We ran out of money,’ leading some to wonder if Daniel Levy’s renowned negotiating skills had put the company into the ground.

However, it is understood that Tottenham did not receive any payment from the now-extinct company.

Blackpool chief executive Ben Mansford did the decent thing after Tangerines goalkeeper Dan Grimshaw suffered a sickening head injury at Preston on Tuesday night, leaving his place in the directors’ box and heading to the Royal Preston Hospital to check on the player.

However, staff at the hospital refused to allow him access, as protocols prevented visitors being allowed in to see Grimshaw.

Mansford had to head home to Lytham, and his side’s miserable night was compounded with a 1-0 defeat. Grimshaw, 24, has now been discharged from hospital, with no timeline set for his return.

Florentino Perez is viewed by many observers as one of the most arrogant and demanding club presidents in world football.

And the Real Madrid supremo, who was the leading architect of the doomed European Super League proposals, did little to dispel those claims as he left Stamford Bridge last week following his side’s thumping 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Champions League.

On a blustery, wet evening, the 75-year-old was spotted walking towards his waiting transport with his entourage when he stopped and demanded that one of his staff put his overcoat on for him.
