Booker T wins a match after six years

Booker T is still in excellent shape, although his career as a professional wrestler ended several years ago. Unlike many of his former colleagues, the former United States champion immediately understood what was the best path for him after retirement and carved out an important space for himself by continuing to work in WWE as a commentator.
The former WWE star has also made a few in-ring appearances over the past six years and has shown that he can still be competitive despite all the injuries due to his age. Booker hadn’t been in the ring since the 2023 Royal Rumble, but he had never closed the door to his return if he was presented with the right offer.
Booker T won the match
That moment came on Saturday, January 11, when he made a match for Reality of Wrestling in Texas facing Zilla Fatu in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Booker won the match thanks to the fundamental help of AJ Francis, who also played in WWE in the past.
The former United States champion follows the events of WWE very closely, which has started a new era in these first weeks of 2025. Monday Night Raw made its Netflix debut on January 6, while episodes of Friday Night SmackDown have been stretched to three hours.
On the latest edition of the ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, Booker T gave his opinion on these changes: “I think the three-hour show works from a talent perspective. Because we as the boys, we want to get on the show. So that extra hour — I mean if you guys don’t like it, that’s one thing. But I’m thinking about the check. I’m thinking getting paid, I’m thinking about, air time is worth its weight in gold. So yeah, from the boys’ perspective I totally see it. If it could be written out properly. I don’t see a problem with having a three-hour show. I think the fans will tune in. They’ve been doing it for quite some time. I think fans finally got used to the three-hour show. So yeah, I’m all in. I like it.”
