Pamela Maldonado breaks down her top picks for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in Pebble Beach, California.

PAMELA MALDONADO: The PGA stays in California for a three-course rotation event, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. I’m Pam Maldonado, and these are the three players that I like to contend for this week.
Looking first to Jason Day. He was on my long list last week, which is a bit of a bummer, because he finished T-3 at the Farmers, gaining strokes in every category. In his last five events here at this event, Day has finished top 10 in all five, including a T-7 last year, when he was in a major downswing. That’s great news, because that tells me that even when his game isn’t clicking he can still make it work here at this event. Plus, in one recent interview, Day did say that I played in my first tournament in a long while without pain, something I want to hear when I’m backing a player.
Kevin Streelman is the second player that I like. If you want to talk about great course history, Streelman has finished T-14 or better his last five times here. The ball striking was there last week at the Farmers. He did finish T-39, where he had eight bogeys. But he had no doubles, which means he had clean golf. He did lose a smidge putting, but more so I am relying on his experience at this event.
The third player is Maverick McNealy. He has only three top 20s in his last eight, but you can pretty much call him a California specialist. In his last three seasons, McNealy is 99 under par in California events. Only Patrick Cantlay has done as well. And since top 20, McNealy has six top 10s, two of those was a T-5 and a runner up here in back-to-back years. He did finish T-30 last week at the Farmers, but he closed out really strong with a birdie and an eagle. I hope he can carry that over into this week.
All three players, Jason Day, Kevin Streelman, and Maverick McNealy, have plus money value for a top 20 and at least 20-to-1 odds for an outright win, if you like…
