In the twenty-sixth week of the year, between the months of June and July, the golf tournaments to follow are always very numerous. Here are the ones we can’t miss.

Tournament of the week

Alps Tour and LET Access Series – Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open 2022
From Thursday 30 June to Saturday 2 July At the AA Saint-Omer Golf Club we will follow the co-sanctioned event Alps Tour and LET Access Series.

The field, therefore, will be divided between the players of one Tour (84) and the players of the other (65). In previous years, the mixed event was part of the MasterCard Tour, the European Challenge Tour and the DP World Tour and this year for the first time it lands on the Alps.

The course, PAR 71 of 6,182 meters, was inaugurated in 1990 and is the only golf course in France designed by Dutch golfer Joan Dudok van Heel. Located in the middle of a natural park, with spectacular views over the Aa Valley, the course has rolling terrain and is surrounded by trees, which are a challenge for all types of players.

Since 1997 it has hosted a professional tournament belonging to different Tours every year. In 2000 it became part of the European Challenge Tour. In 2003 it became the site of an official event of the DP World Tour, but was soon removed from the European Tour in 2014 because it was scheduled in the same week as the U.S.

Open. It therefore remained a Challenge Tour event until this year. Most of this season’s winners will compete for the title at the Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open 2022, including: Italian Gregorio De Leo, Dutchman Koen Kouwenaar and Spanish Manuel Morugan.

French amateur Julien Sale, currently 2nd in the Order of Merit, will also participate in the competition alongside the top 10 players, with the exception of current leader Tom Vaillant and fifth-placed Gary Hurley.
