Jack Draper suffered a slight illness in the US Open semifinal lost in three sets against Jannik Sinner; illness that led him to vomit on the court, perhaps caused by the extreme humidity conditions in which the match was played.
Below is the dramatic moment in which Jack felt ill and vomited:
Did Draper just spam his vomit… on his face?!?

“It was a very physical match. This is why Jannik is number one in the world: when you play against top players the intensity is different.”
These were the first words by the British player in the press conference after his defeat in the US Open semifinal. He immediately drew a clear difference between the matches against the best players in the world and the rest of the Tour. The mental and physical level you need to try to beat some tennis players is so high that episodes like the one that happened to Draper can happen.
In the middle of the second set, the 22-year-old from Sutton actually vomited on the court, as mentioned.
“I was much more nervous today. I’m a very anxious person and sometimes I feel nauseous on the court. I feel bad when things are more complicated. I didn’t have any problems before the match,” he said.

The British player explained that he never thought about retiring during the match.
“I will never retire in a Slam semifinal. The last set was not a spectacle, but in the end I always tried to give my best. In the second set I was not feeling very good and I still took it to the tie-break. I am proud of myself. When you play long matches you need to drink and eat, give your body the supplements it needs to continue. So when you feel bad, you can’t take anything and it’s the worst feeling ever. Jannik has a lot of experience already.
He is number 1 because he hardly loses a match…
