If Sam Burns is able to finish on top of the leaderboard this week at the 2022 Valspar Championship, he’ll become just the second golfer ever to repeat as champion (Paul Casey 2018-19). Burns will have to stave off a number of serious contenders if he wants to rewrite the history books. Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa and Dustin Johnson are among the experienced players looking to dethrone Burns and win the Valspar Championship 2022.
Play gets underway from the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on Thursday, March 17. Thomas, the eighth-ranked player in the world, enters this week’s event as the 10-1 favorite according to the latest 2022 Valspar Championship odds from Caesars Sportsbook. He’s followed by Hovland (11-1), Morikawa (11-1) and Johnson (16-1) on the PGA odds board. Before locking in your 2022 Valspar Championship picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.
SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, it’s up almost $9,000 on its best bets since that point, nailing tournament after tournament.
At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure’s best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure’s model was all over Jon Rahm’s (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.
This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.
Now that the Valspar Championship 2022 field is locked, SportsLine simulated the event 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected 2022 Valspar…
