Fan digs up Jessica Pegula predicting that Madison Keys would win AO,

Believe it or not, Jessica Pegula predicted that Madison Keys would win the Australian Open if she delivered her level from Adelaide as the 30-year-old now jokes that she “told everyone” what was going to happen.
On Saturday, the 19th-seeded American became a Grand Slam champion at the age of 29 after upsetting defending champion Aryna Sabalenka 6-3 2-6 7-5.
For Keys, it was her 12th consecutive win but also the first time that she managed to capture back-to-back titles in her career.
Before coming to Melbourne, she won the Adelaide International after beating Pegula 6-3 4-6 6-1.
“If Madison plays half as good as she did against me in the third set of the Adelaide Final, she will win the title,” the 2024 US Open runner-up said before the start of the Happy Slam.
After one person brought that prediction up, Pegula: “This is true. I kinda told everyone tbh (to be honest & laughing emoji).”

Pegula predicted right – Keys beat several top names en route to winning the Australian Open
The 29-year-old’s run to the title was all but a cakewalk – besides Sabalenka, she also faced Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Elina Svitolina and Danielle Collins.
But she had an answer for the two top-ranked players in the game, as well as some other pretty strong names.
Throughout the fortnight, Keys’ aggressive game was clicking and no one can say that she undeservedly won the title.
“I’ve wanted this for so long. I made my very first Grand Slam semifinal here in Melbourne, so to now have won my first Grand Slam in the same place means the absolute world to me,” the American tennis star said on the court following her triumph.
Keys also highlighted that it was “a dream come true” and added that she “cannot wait for more.”
