What’s next for Naomi after return to WWE in 2025

Naomi has been a mainstay of the WWE women’s division, and her return to the company earlier this year has been nothing if not eventful. She took a hiatus after WrestleMania 39 this past April but made her surprise return at the Royal Rumble on January 27, 2024, coming out as the number two entry to last well over an hour before being eliminated by Jade Cargill.
After the return, Naomi was attached to the SmackDown roster, where in very little time, she began waging battles as effectively as ever in the ring. She defeated Alba Fyre for an Elimination Chamber entry but was subsequently eliminated by Tiffany Stratton. At WrestleMania XL, she teamed with Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill to defeat Damage CTRL in a six-woman tag team match, proving just how versatile and resilient Naomi could be.
Naomi Championship Pursuits and Recent Developments
This wasn’t the end of her quest for championship gold, however, as she then became the number one contender for the WWE Women’s Championship. Naomi would go on to have a valiant effort in her title match against Bayley at Backlash, but came out on the losing end due to interference from Tiffany Stratton.
In the months that followed, Naomi participated in a couple of high-profiled matches such as women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and title match against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax; she did not win either. She being part of such big matches showed that Naomi still holds good grounds in WWE.
Naomi came in for an injured Jade Cargill to help Bianca Belair retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on December 13, 2024. She was instrumental in winning that match, but due to WWE not recognizing her in their official records, the lineage continued with Belair and Cargill.
