Taya Valkyrie urges fans to stop supporting WWE

The effects of the global pandemic have struck overwhelmingly on every sector, including that of sports entertainment. WWE has been forced to release large numbers of superstars and insiders over the past year and a half. The empty arenas and subsequent crisis prompted the company to make a series of drastic decisions, also given the sudden rise of All Elite Wrestling.

Thanks to the grafts of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, Tony Khan’s company has managed to gain the upper hand in the 18 to 49-year-old demographic. In the past few hours, he has seen a new wave of layoffs from the Stamford-based federation.

Talents of the caliber of John Morrison and Tegan Nox had to pack their bags to the collective amazement. That of the former Intercontinental champion is undoubtedly the most high-sounding name, thanks to Morrison’s strong bond with the WWE Universe.

The company also released Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis and Top Dolla (members of Hit Row). Earlier this month, B-Fab was fired. Former WWE star Taya Valkyrie, wife of John Morrison, used her Twitter profile to lash out at Vince McMahon and her associates.

“I urge fans to stop supporting a company that has zero respect for its talents. If you really love professional wrestling, spend your money on other companies. WWE got it wrong. From an ethical point of view, Vince McMahon and the management behaved horribly” – tweeted Taya Valkyrie.

I don’t want to denigrate Vince McMahon, I learned a lot from him, but corporate decisions can hurt people. I think Tony Khan has only let three people go since the pandemic broke out and all for disciplinary reasons.”
