Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to land Fiorentina ace Dusan Vlahovic.
Vlahovic, 21, established himself as one of the most promising young attacking players in European football with 21 goals and three assists for Fiorentina in the Italian top flight last season.
The Serbia international has picked up where he left off this term, netting 12 times in 14 appearances in all competitions, and his barnstorming form in front of goal has attracted strong interest from a host of top clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
Newcastle, Juventus and AC Milan are all believed to be tracking Vlahovic and Arsenal have also been heavily linked in recent days, with Fiorentina increasingly resigned to losing their prized possession.
The Serie A outfit recently confirmed Vlahovic had rejected their offer of an extension – with the striker out of contract in 2023 – and the revelation has put potential suitors on red alert.
According to The Daily Mail, United are among those keen on Vlahovic despite the current uncertainty at Old Trafford, with Michael Carrick leading the side on an interim basis.
The report claims the Red Devils have been keeping close tabs on the attacker’s progress this season and could step up their pursuit in due course.
However, it’s understood Fiorentina value Vlahovic at around £60million and are in no rush to agree a cut-price fee for the sought-after forward.
Vlahovic left boyhood team FK Partizan to join Fiorentina in 2017 and has rapidly become a key figure at both club and international level over the last 12 months.
The 6 ft 3 star made his debut for Serbia in the UEFA Nations League against Hungary last October and has since scored seven goals in his opening 14 games for the Eagles.
