Rio Ferdinand believes Harry Maguire’s poor performance played a big role in Manchester United dropping more Premier League points at Burnley, but insists the whole team need to take responsibility.

United were comfortably leading at Turf Moor following a first half Paul Pogba strike in a dominant opening 45 minutes.

But after half-time, Burnley hit back as Wout Weghorst skillfully turned Maguire before playing in Jay Rodriguez who held off the United skipper to slip home an equaliser and earn a 1-1 draw.

Later in the game, Maguire was booked for purposefully bringing down Rodriguez while the striker was about to run in on goal, with debate surrounding whether he should have been sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Ferdinand claimed that Magurie has looked inconsistent all season for the Red Devils, and that the England defender will know he can perform better.
