Rafael Nadal is now the most successful player of all time

Boris Becker says Rafael Nadal is the most succrssful player in tennis history after winning the Australian Open. Nadal recovered from two sets down to beat Daniil Medvedev 2-6 6-7 (5) 6-4 6-4 7-5 in the Australian Open final.
Nadal now has a record 21 Grand Slam titles while Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer come at the second place with 20 Grand Slams. “It was a day made for tennis history,” Becker told Eurosport, as quoted on Tennishead.
“We didn’t have Nadal at the top of our list a fortnight ago. He was fit, won the preparation tournament in Melbourne. “Before that, Nadal was injured for half a year. Now we are wiser and Rafa has broken the record of Federer and Djokovic.
“You make a mistake if you still call Rafa the clay court king. He has won on every surface and every Grand Slam tournament at least twice. “He is the most successful player of all time, we can say that loud and clear”.
Nadal on the key moment of the match
Nadal was down by two sets and Medvedev had three consecutive break points in the sixth game of the third set. Nadal saved those three break points and the rest is history. “In that moment, of course, the situation was critical,” said Nadal, “but sport is unpredictable.
The normal thing is to lose the match in straight sets from that situation. On the other hand, I had a big chance in the second [set] too. “I was repeating to myself during the whole match, I lost a lot of times here [in Melbourne] having chances, sometimes I was a little bit unlucky.
I just wanted to keep believing until the end. I just wanted to give myself a chance. “That’s what I did. Just fight, just keep belief in trying to find a solution. Of course, I was lucky to save that moment. [There were] a lot of moments that can decide the final like this”.
