According to recent rumors, Saudi Arabia and Endeavor are the front-runners in the competition to buy WWE, the famed wrestling entertainment organization, potentially. Vince Mcmahon, the chairman of WWE, has reportedly been looking into the prospect of selling the business and asking for an astounding $9 billion.
On Tuesday’s Endeavor earnings call, CEO Ari Emanuel was asked about the prospective acquisition. In response, he said they have yet to plan any action that could reduce their leverage position, raising questions about their capacity to buy WWE.
Yet, there is a rumor that WWE would consider Tony Khan, the president of AEW, a potential bidder. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Khan may buy the company but would need partners.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, Tony Khan, the president of AEW, may bid for WWE if he can find enough partners to make the acquisition feasible.
Khan has expressed interest in the business, but because of the high $9 billion asking price, a sizable consortium may be needed to finance it. A strong competitor, according to Meltzer, is the Saudi Arabian group, which may have agreed to the exorbitant asking price.
Other prospective purchasers, however, have yet to publicly declare their interest in purchasing WWE, so it is unclear whether anyone will be able to pay the astronomical price established by McMahon. While the Saudis might not be very concerned about money, other parties might find it challenging to explain the cost and look for a more fair estimate.
