Tottenham striker Harry Kane is ready to turn down a move to Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
United are in the market for a new striker with Edinson Cavani due to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is also uncertain if there is no Champions League football at Old Trafford next term.
Kane has emerged as one of United’s top targets, while Erik ten Hag, who has reached an initial agreement to replace Ralf Rangnick this summer, is also behind the club’s push to sign the England captain.
But according to The Mirror, Kane is set to reject an approach from United and will ‘reassess his future after the summer’.
The report claims that Kane may have been tempted by United if they had brought in Mauricio Pochettino instead of Ten Hag, but the Tottenham striker is happy under Antonio Conte.
Spurs are also in the driving seat to finish fourth in the Premier League and secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
Kane has played a pivotal part of Spurs’ impressive form under Conte in recent weeks, scoring five goals and registering five assists in his last six Premier League appearances.
The 28-year-old wanted to join Manchester City last summer but a move failed to materialise with Spurs holding out for a transfer fee in excess of £140 million.
But Kane now claims he is ‘in a really good place’ under Conte’s guidance.
‘He’s a fantastic coach and since he came in we’ve got on really well,’ Kane said of Conte last month.
‘He brings his ideas to the game, he brings the way he wants me to play, the strikers to play so I have definitely learnt different aspects of my game under him.
