Are the Boston Celtics among early contenders – or

Are the Boston Celtics actually contenders, or is what we have seen from them to start the 2022-23 NBA season more smoke than fire? And what about the rest of their peers in the ranks of the so-called contending teams as projected by among NBA analysts?

On a recent episode of the “Hoopsology” podcast, hosts Justin Goodrum and Matt Thomas dug deep into the early returns for the season to divine which clubs will actually be contenders by the end of the season, and which teams still have work to go to seriously threaten to win the 2023 NBA championship.

While some teams, such as the Milwaukee Bucks, have a handle on everything early, there are clear issues with Boston’s defense, leaving some to wonder what will happen the first time the team goes cold as a jump shooting club.
