Jim Cornette on the Hardy Boyz’s return

Jeff and Matt Hardy have fought together in WWE, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, on the independent circuit and since 2022 in All Elite Wrestling. During their career, they have enjoyed great success due to the link with some types of meetings such as Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

They also remember their heated feuds with Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz in the early 2000s. In total, the Hardy Boyz have won the World Tag Team Championship six times and once each the Raw Tag Team Championship, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, the WCW World Tag Team Championship and the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Jeff made his debut in AEW in the episode of March 9, 2022, helping his brother and marking the beginning of a new partnership with Matt. In the latest edition of his now-famous podcast, Jim Cornette expressed more than a few doubts about the Hardy reunion.

The Hardy Boyz’ victory at WrestleMania 33 came exactly ten years after their last run with the Tag Team titles. Consequently, Matt and Jeff became the only tag team to win the championships in three different decades.

“Matt and Jeff Hardy are back to work together four years after the last time, but I would have expected something better” – confessed Jim Cornette. “Their reunion took place in any show and not a pay-per-view.

Additionally, the Hardys faced a second-tier couple and their arrival was not adequately announced by AEW. This highly anticipated event could have been sold much better” – he added. Cornette is not unbalanced on the future: “Jeff and Matt will have no problem getting noticed in these first few weeks, but gradually the buzz around them will dissolve.
