Roman Reigns is the current Universal title holder and has been heralded as the new WWE symbol since John Cena began curtailing his schedule in 2015. During a lengthy Sportskeeda interview, Dutch Mantell was asked if Roman can ever reach the same level as a legend like Hulk Hogan.
Can Roman Reigns become like Hulk Hogan?
“Roman Reigns is an exceptional performer, but I don’t think he’ll ever get to the same level as Hulk Hogan,” Mantell replied with great sincerity.
“Hogan’s status is something he can hardly describe in words, he has transcended wrestling and is known in every corner of the world. Even though he didn’t fight that hard, his every appearance in the ring was a memorable event.
People were selling their souls just to go and see it” – he added. In the latest edition of his ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, Booker T revealed that he would be willing to return to the ring to challenge Roman. “If I was offered the chance to return to the fight, I would only accept if the opponent was Reigns.
He is a guy I respect very much, I have repeated this several times in recent months. I’d like to see if there is still some petrol in my tank. I would try to present myself in the best possible form” – confided the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.
