Finally here we are: the greatest tennis players on the planet will gather under the same roof – that of the US Open – ready to battle for the New York crown. It is the last Slam of the season, the tournament that in history has provided more surprises than anyone expected on the eve. Will it really be like this in 2024?

Novak Djokovic, defending champion, has another chance to rewrite tennis history. The Serb is hunting for his 25th Major and the wings of enthusiasm after the Paris Olympic triumph, could push him towards his first title of the season right here in Flushing Meadows.

For the second time after Wimbledon, ATP No.1 Jannik Sinner will be the first seed of the event. The debut will be with the American Mackenzie McDonald, then the possible remake of the Cincinnati challenge with Michelsen or a tennis player from the qualifiers.

The first dangers could come directly in the round of 16 with Tommy Paul or the Frenchman Arthur Fils. Potentially not the best opponents for the quarterfinals, given that both Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev are present.
