WWE personality drops major hint about what’s next

Role changes do not happen often in WWE. Once someone finds their place on television, they usually stay there.
When shifts do happen, they are often tied to injuries or retirement. Jason Jordan, Bobby Roode, and Abyss all moved behind the scenes after their in-ring careers slowed down.
Cathy Kelley’s situation is different. She is not stepping away. She wants to step forward. After serving as a backstage interviewer since 2016, Kelley has made it clear she is ready for something bigger.
During a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Kelley shared that she has been training at WWE’s Performance Center. That revelation caught attention quickly. Still, she shut down idea of becoming a wrestler. Competing in matches is not part of her plan.
Instead, she wants to get involved in storylines. Kelley said she has long hoped to become a manager or valet. She does not have a specific superstar in mind, but this has been a goal for nearly ten years. She even pointed out that she once managed Ryan Katz during his final independent match, calling that experience a glimpse of what she would like to do full-time.
This matters because managers play a real role in shaping WWE television. The right voice beside a rising star can add depth, intensity, and direction. Kelley already understands how stories unfold. She has interviewed champions, challengers, and legends. She knows how to read a moment and elevate it.
There is also natural chemistry to consider. Rhea Ripley is an obvious example, given their playful dynamic on screen. Still, nothing is confirmed. Kelley simply wants the chance to evolve.
If WWE allows this move, it would show flexibility in how company uses its talent. For Kelley, it is not about leaving her current job behind. It is about expanding it.
