Odyssey Jones Shines in WWE Raw Debut, Joins New Day for Next Week

“WWE Raw” on August 5th was the stage where Odyssey Jones made his debut with a bang. The former NXT hopeful finally got to the ring after being twice drafted to the main roster and carried it off in style. His explosive entry is surely going to be a thrilling ride in WWE.

In his first appearance on the red brand, Jones locked horns with Vincent Winey, a former linebacker at Morehead State University who has been training at the Performance Center. At the beginning of this contest, Winey tried to gain an early advantage by throwing himself at 6’5” tall Jones.

However, that soon changed when Jones flipped him over so easily across the ring. Thus, from this point forward, Jones maintained complete control over this match by winning it with an emphatic spinning sidewalk slam which gave ample evidence of his power and skills.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods from The New Day were there with him in the ring as they celebrated together following their win. But it did not last long for them. Karin Kross of The Final Testament interrupted this joyous occasion, thereby sowing some discord among members of The New Day.

“Odyssey Jones is just a replacement for Big E by Kofi Kingston,” proclaimed Kross. “No, no, no, Woods, you see truth is Kofi wants Odyssey for you”.

Tag Team Challenge

Woods was about to answer, but then Kingston intervened hastily, challenging Kross to a six-man tag team match.

This set up high stakes clash between The New Day and The Final Testament on August 19th’s “Raw”. Featuring Odyssey Jones in addition to Big E’s crew versus The Final Testament. While Big E has yet to respond directly to Kross’ words, he did put out a tweet showing support for his new partner during their debut on TV.

There are no details as regards what role if any he will play in this storyline since he is currently out injured. Whether or not he will return to WWE programming remains a question among fans, and it would be interesting to see if he…
