Shane McMahon Meets with AEW Tony Khan to Discuss Future Opportunities

Shane McMahon joining AEW was a topic of conversation earlier this summer. Jim Ross’ podcast started the rumors, and AEW CEO Tony Khan commented that McMahon would be “welcome” in his promotion. However, there have been few updates until now.

Fightful Select and WrestleTalk reported that McMahon and Khan met at an Arlington, Texas airport to discuss it. Their first meeting was held on Monday, July 29th, according to the report. It had been previously established that Khan wanted McMahon in AEW but they had not spoken until recently.

The talks are still in the early stages; as of Tuesday, Fightful’s sources within AEW said the backstage team had not yet been informed about the meeting. WrestleTalk posted a photo of Khan and McMahon in a small conference room.
